A Video on the Political Instability of the Future

I mentioned in a previous video that I believe we still need to see a lot of political instability in the world prior to the start of the end times. This video focuses on why I believe we need to see a lot more political instability in the future.  You can view the video at the following link if you are unable to see it in this article.

A Couple of Notes

  • The chart in the video showed global warfare and governance trends only through 2004. However, more recent charts show that the number of democracies in the world has continued to increase while the level of conflict in the world has remained near the same level (there’s been some increase in recent years but conflict is nowhere near the levels seen in prior decades). Therefore, I can still argue that the world is relatively calm today in terms of conflict.
  • I talked about economic instability as a key driver of future political instability at the end of the video. I believe we need to see much, much worse economic/financial turmoil than what the world experienced in 2008 and 2009 to create the type of political instability I think we need to see prior to the start of the end times.

  1. Hi Wayne, thanks for this video.
I agree with most things you say. I think that the political instability is starting to increase right now in Europe. But I don’t think that the most important factors will be of economical nature. Of course we have a lot of economic problems but right now all of Europe is much more concerned about the migration crisis we are facing. Millions of people, many of them refugees, are coming or planning to come to Europe from the Middle East. They are anguished and very desperate. European countries don’t really know what to do with them or how to handle the situation. In Hungary the government has built a fence on the southern borders and sent there the army to help out the police. Today they shot tear gas into the middle of the crowd including women and children.
Though the most scary thing about this is not the large number of the refugees but to see how rapidly democratic order collapses in Central Europe and how easily people sacrifice the rule of law for a sense of relative security. Political extremities and radical parties are becoming stronger day by day. People start to behave and think very much like they did in the 1930s. “Someone should take control now. We need a strong leader to handle this. I don’t care who he is, I don’t care what it costs, just let someone come and set things in order.”
It is very likely now that Europe will change for good in a few years. All that is “needed” is some kind of a trigger like a terrorist attack. Or a riot amongst the refugees. Politicians will do the rest.

I would like very much to hear your opinion about the migration crisis in Europe if you have any idea what is going on in a Biblical perspective.

    • Be careful about putting too much focus on current events. An event that seems big right now may not be so big in a few months when the media stops covering it or when a group of nations get together to alleviate the issue. One of the main reasons why I believe economic is the key driver of instability is that it’s a universal driver of instability. Economic depression would create severe political instability in Central Europe, Asia, the U.S., etc. Global economic depression would create a world that is far more unstable than what we see today.
