Some Bible prophecy commentators believe that key end time events will take place during the Jewish fall feasts. For instance,
- Some believe the Rapture could take place during the Jewish holiday of Rosh Hashanah (the Jewish New Year).
- Some believe that Yom Kippur (the Day of Atonement) could be the time when the tribulation (also known as the 70th week of Daniel) will end.
In this article, I will provide a list of upcoming Jewish Fall Feast dates and explain how we can use them to find the start of the tribulation.
Jewish Fall Feasts through 2040
The table below lists the start dates for the Jewish fall feasts of Rosh Hashanah, Yom Kippur, and Sukkoth through the year 2040. There’s no particular reason why the list covers 20 years except to give people who have different views on how close we are to the tribulation an idea of what dates these fall feasts will occur in the coming years.
- Note: Rosh Hashanah lasts for 2 days.
- Note: Sukkoth lasts for 7 days.

Yom Kippur: End of the Tribulation
I believe the end of the tribulation is likely to occur on the Jewish holiday of Yom Kippur (the Day of Atonement). Yom Kippur is a solemn day where people seek to repent their sins and seek reconciliation with God.
The significance of Yom Kippur aligns with what will take place at the end of the 70th week of Daniel (or end of the tribulation). Several events will begin to be brought about by the end of the 70th week of Daniel, including:
- The atonement for the sins of Jerusalem and the people of Israel
- Reconciliation for Israel’s iniquity
“Seventy weeks are determined upon thy people and upon thy holy city, to finish the transgression, and to make an end of sins, and to make reconciliation for iniquity, and to bring in everlasting righteousness, and to seal up the vision and prophecy, and to anoint the most Holy.” (Daniel 9:24)
Since Yom Kippur is the Day of Atonement on the Jewish calendar (Leviticus 16:29-30 and 23:27-28) and a day of reconciliation, it would be fitting for the final atonement of sins and reconciliation for Jerusalem and the people of Israel to be brought about on the Day of Atonement at the end of the 70th week of Daniel.
Furthermore, Isaiah 61:1-2 indicates that the end of the 70th week of Daniel may coincide with the start of a Jubilee Year. Jubilee Years begin on Yom Kippur (Leviticus 25:9-10).
The Start of the Tribulation
The table below shows ten potential start dates for the 70th week of Daniel if it indeed ends on Yom Kippur.
I found these dates by finding when Yom Kippur occurs for each year in the table below and then subtracting 2520 days, the length of the 70th week of Daniel (see my article: “Why the Tribulation Is 7 Years Long” to see why the 70th week of Daniel is 2520 days in length).
End of the 70th Week (Yom Kippur) | Potential Start of the 70th Week |
---|---|
October 10, 2027 | November 15, 2020 |
September 29, 2028 | November 5, 2021 |
September 18, 2029 | October 25, 2022 |
October 6, 2030 | November 12, 2023 |
September 26, 2031 | November 1, 2024 |
September 14, 2032 | October 21, 2025 |
October 2, 2033 | November 8, 2026 |
September 22, 2034 | October 29, 2027 |
October 12, 2035 | November 17, 2028 |
September 30, 2036 | November 6, 2029 |
The above table suggests that we should pay the most attention to the time between late October and mid-November each year for the potential start of the 70th week of Daniel. Events that take place outside this period are unlikely events that start of the 70th week of Daniel, the confirmation of the 7-year covenant (Daniel 9:27).
I am not saying that every event that occurs outside the late October to mid-November period is irrelevant or unimportant. Some events that take place outside this period can be important since they can later lead to the start of the 70th week of Daniel.
For instance, all that work that goes into confirming a (new) 7-year covenant is unlikely to take place within a few weeks.
- Making a 7-year or even a 3.5-year commitment is a big one for all parties involved.
- Many negotiating sessions would likely need to take place before all sides reach a deal they feel comfortable with. This process could take months or even years.
Final Thoughts
I hope this helps you to not get caught up in the hype of someone who tells you the tribulation will start in a month like April or July. Late October to mid-November is the time you should watch out for.
I have an article called: “How to Tell If We’re Living in the Tribulation” if you would like to learn how you can know for sure if you are living in the tribulation.

This is how I read, and understand 2 Thes.2:7 in its context.
{7} For the mystery of iniquity doth already work: only he (the mystery of iniquity) who now letteth will let, until he (the mystery of iniquity) be taken out of the way.
{8} And then shall that Wicked be revealed,
You have two revealing’s in 2Thes.2:3-10; one in verse 4, which is the revealing of the Man of sin, the son of perdition of verse 3. and the other in verse 8 after the man of sin, the son of perdition who is the mystery of iniquity is taken out of the way. {8} And then shall that Wicked be revealed.
The man of sin, the son of perdition is in mystery form, this is how he deceives the world, and gets them to worship him as God, but after he gains their trust the beast that ascends out of the bottomless pit goes into the son of perdition, and now he is Satan incarnate as God shows us in 1Thes.2:9.
Revelation 17:8 The beast that thou sawest was, and is not; and shall ascend out of the bottomless pit, and go into perdition: and they that dwell on the earth shall wonder, whose names were not written in the book of life from the foundation of the world, when they behold the beast that was, and is not, and yet is.
Revelation 17:11 And the beast that was, and is not, even he is the eighth, and is of the seven, and goeth into perdition.
(2 Thessalonians 2:3-10) “Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition; {4} Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God. {5} Remember ye not, that, when I was yet with you, I told you these things? {6} And now ye know what withholdeth that he might be revealed in his time. {7} For the mystery of iniquity doth already work: only he who now letteth will let, until he be taken out of the way. {8} And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming: {9} Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders, {10} And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved.”
God bless.
Wayne, Great article. I find the days between Feast of Trumpets 10/12/2024 and Day of Atonement 9/26/2031 to be 2550 days (1290+1260) from Daniel to be interesting. 1290 days after Trumpets is Resurection Day 2028. Unless I am calculating wrong.
On a related subject, many Pre-Trib believers have reevaluated their stance as they better define Tribulation as Jesus defines it in Matthew 24 and Olivette parallels. Tribulation is Satan’s wrath against believers. After that is God’s wrath that we (like Noah) are not appointed to see.
Correction is welcomed as needed.
Hi Wayne, I agree with you about the Feast Days being part of end times.
One note about Rosh Hashana: The biblical new year is actually Abib. The Feast of Trumpets is Tishri 1. I have not been able to connect the new year with the Feast of Trumpets. Maybe this is rabbinic tradition?
Feast of Trumpets brings to mind the Trumpet judgements, although I cannot say for sure they are related.
Thank you for your great biblically sound articles!
Thanks for reading and commenting Heather!
My name is Alan Finch. I became a Christian 43 years ago. Wayne, thanks for putting together the above chart. I am in agreement with you that the beginning of the 7 year tribulation will take place sometime between late October and mid November.
I would also like to add that another sign of the beginning of the 7 year tribulation will be the Lord’s release of His “Two end-time Witnesses.”
In the past 18 months, I have put together 3 documents concerning the “Two end-time Witnesses.”
The 3 documents are titled “The two end-time Witnesses” – “The two Lamp-Stands & The two Olive Trees” – The two end-time Witnesses and their Message.”
The Christian Church is going to be shocked at the Message of the “Two end-time Witnesses.”
If anyone would like a copy of these 3 documents, just e-mail me and I will send you the copies.

Hi Wayne, Thank you for posting the fall feast dates of Rosh Hashana and Yom Kippur. Is it possible that you could add a column and post the day count as well? The reason, as you probably know, is to see what years work for the 2550 day count to fulfill the 7 year tribulation. Then we can see clearly what years work for the theory that the tribulation starts on Rosh Hashana, and ends 7 years later on Yom Kippur. Keep up the prophecy studies and keep looking up 🙂
I have something like that in this article except I used a 2520 day count: https://www.prophecyproof.org/locating-the-end-times-start-time-on-the-calendar/
About the 2520 day count… as I understand it, it’s based on a 360-day “prophetic” year. What is a “prophetic” year and why are years being counted as 360 days? I thought that the Jewish calendar varies in number of days from year to year. Thank you.
Hi Mel, I explain how the 2520 day count comes about in this article: https://www.prophecyproof.org/why-tribulation-7-years-long/
I think its sad that you try to discredit anyone who has an opinion about prophecy and a rapture. I think we should keep an open mind and consider all ideas, theories. No one knows . I long for the rapture and hope it is soon as possible.. what makes you the authority on prophecy?
I’ve studied Bible prophecy since I was 16 years old comparing Scripture with Scripture. I share what I believe to be true about Bible prophecy events based on my studies. We live in period where false religious teachings are on the rise, including in the area of Bible prophecy. Many people are falling for end time teachings that have little to no biblical support. We’re called to be Bereans-not people who believe everything we’re told. Sadly, many people fall prey to sensationalistic theories and teachings that are spread online. I sometimes have to deal with people who are terrified by a false teaching about the world’s “impending doom” on a certain date a date setter has given.
I am no prophet. I would like the end times to go a certain way, but it doesn’t matter how I feel or what I want to happen. What matters is the truth, and sometimes it is the truth that is most difficult to hear and to accept.
Do you have any thoughts, Wayne, about the idea that Christ was born on 9/11/03 BC? Have you heard of or studied this before? Just curious.
I haven’t really studied the birth date of Christ, but I’ve heard the idea of a birth date in September before. I wouldn’t be surprised if He was born during the month of September, but again it’s not something I’ve really studied.
The birth of Christ was in the spring on Nissan 1. March 20th. These results come from the Dead Sea scrolls confirming the time frame when Zachariah had served in the temple.
Ok. Now Remember in Luke where it says the shepherds watched their flocks by night? Sheep give birth to lambs once a year in the spring. The shepherds protected their sheep from wild animals and typically the sheep gave birth in caves in Bethlehem. The sheep in Bethlehem were used for the holy sacrifice in the temple on Yom Kippor(Day of Atonement). (1 year old without blemish)
Do you remember when Mary went to visit Zachariah and Elizabeth in Bethlehem? Mary was in her third month and Elizabeth in her 6th month. Mary stayed with Elizabeth for 3 months. Mary is now six months pregnant when she returned back to Nazareth. She still was not married to Joseph. When Zachariah was a priest and was chosen by lot to enter the temple. They went into the Holy of Holies once a year on Yom Kippor. He went in, an and angel spoke to him saying his son (Zachariah’s) would be named John.
Now let’s go way back to Moses and the day the Israelites left Egypt in hast after Pharaoh finally agreed to let the people go. (After the plague of the first born shall die.) God told Moses that the New Year would start on Nissan 1. What day do you think was the day Christ was born?!!!
March 20 accounting to Jonathan Cahn.
Do you by chance have the dates on our calendar that the first 4 feasts were fulfilled through Christ, then, something that might tie the last 3 feasts into the pattern of expectation according to the days of Daniel and Revelation.
I do think God is trying to get our attention, I just cannot go too far without more information and knowledge. For sure, we are living in exciting ties. Thanks for your work. A fellow watchman!
Hi David, I don’t have an article with those dates at the moment.
