Is the Valley of Dry Bones Prophecy Fulfilled?

Ezekiel 37:1-14 describes the prophecy of the Valley of Dry Bones. Some people believe the Valley of Dry Bones prophecy relates to the creation of the state of Israel in 1948. Did the creation of the state of Israel really fulfill the prophecy?

In this article, I will examine whether the creation of the state of Israel in 1948 fulfilled the Valley of Dry Bones prophecy (and if not, when the Valley of Dry Bones prophecy might be fulfilled).

The Key to the Valley of Dry Bones Prophecy

The key to answering if the Valley of Dry Bones prophecy is fulfilled is to look at what happens when the Valley of Dry Bones prophecy is fulfilled.

Ezekiel 37:12-14

Ezekiel 37:12-14 merits special attention. The passage summarizes what will happen when the Valley of Dry Bones prophecy is finally fulfilled. The Valley of Dry Bones prophecy’s fulfillment will result in the house of Israel knowing that the Lord performed what He spoke (verse 14):

“(12) Therefore prophesy and say unto them, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, O my people, I will open your graves, and cause you to come up out of your graves, and bring you into the land of Israel. (13) And ye shall know that I am the LORD, when I have opened your graves, O my people, and brought you up out of your graves, (14) And shall put my spirit in you, and ye shall live, and I shall place you in your own land: then shall ye know that I the LORD have spoken it, and performed it, saith the LORD.” (Ezekiel 37:12-14)

Ezekiel 37:12-14 mentions that the house of Israel shall know the Lord twice. Given that this is mentioned twice within three verses, it is a development worth focusing on.

Again, verse 14 indicates that the fulfillment of the Valley of Dry Bones prophecy will result in the house of Israel knowing that the Lord performed what He spoke. This will come after the house of Israel is placed in their own land. However, verse 14 alone does not tell us when that will transpire.

Let’s look at several other Bible prophecy passages to get a better idea of the time frame and the circumstances of when the house of Israel shall gain a knowledge of the Lord.

To Know the Lord

Ezekiel 39 provides information about the time frame when the house of Israel shall know the Lord in general. Ezekiel 39:21-22 indicates that the house of Israel shall know the Lord “from that day and forward” after the defeat of Gog’s forces:

“(21) And I will set my glory among the heathen, and all the heathen shall see my judgment that I have executed, and my hand that I have laid upon them. (22) So the house of Israel shall know that I am the LORD their God from that day and forward.” (Ezekiel 39:21-22)

The defeat of Gog referenced in Ezekiel 39 will take place when the Lord comes to defeat the nations that attack Jerusalem during the end time siege of Jerusalem (this differs from the defeat of Gog referenced in Ezekiel 38, which is likely to occur after the Millennium).

Therefore, the soonest the house of Israel will know the Lord in general is at the defeat of the nations that will attack Jerusalem. This alone suggests that the Valley of Dry Bones prophecy is not yet fulfilled and won’t be until the latter stages of the end times.

Gain Further Knowledge about the Lord

Ezekiel 39:25-28 tells us more about the time frame the whole house of Israel shall gain further knowledge of the Lord. The house of Israel shall know the Lord caused them to be led into captivity among the heathen after they have been completely gathered (“I have left none of them any more there”) from the nations to the land of Israel:

“(25) Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD; Now will I bring again the captivity of Jacob, and have mercy upon the whole house of Israel, and will be jealous for my holy name; (26) After that they have borne their shame, and all their trespasses whereby they have trespassed against me, when they dwelt safely in their land, and none made them afraid. (27) When I have brought them again from the people, and gathered them out of their enemies’ lands, and am sanctified in them in the sight of many nations; (28) Then shall they know that I am the LORD their God, which caused them to be led into captivity among the heathen: but I have gathered them unto their own land, and have left none of them any more there.” (Ezekiel 39:25-28)

The knowledge of the Lord gained by the house of Israel after they gather from the nations is distinct from the knowledge of the Lord they will gain following the defeat of Gog:

  • The house of Israel will gain a general knowledge that the Lord is God after the defeat of Gog.
  • The house of Israel will learn that the Lord caused them to be led into captivity after they arrive in the land of Israel. Similarly, they will learn that the Lord did what He spoke of in the Valley of Dry Bones prophecy after they gather in the land of Israel.

The detail about how the Lord will leave none of the house of Israel in the nations any more is important. This detail suggests that this is not a partial gathering like what has taken place since 1948. Instead, this is a full gathering that will occur near the start of the Millennium as described in various Bible prophecy verses like Isaiah 66:18-20:

(18) For I know their works and their thoughts: it shall come, that I will gather all nations and tongues; and they shall come, and see my glory. (19) And I will set a sign among them, and I will send those that escape of them unto the nations, to Tarshish, Pul, and Lud, that draw the bow, to Tubal, and Javan, to the isles afar off, that have not heard my fame, neither have seen my glory; and they shall declare my glory among the Gentiles. (20) And they shall bring all your brethren for an offering unto the LORD out of all nations upon horses, and in chariots, and in litters, and upon mules, and upon swift beasts, to my holy mountain Jerusalem, saith the LORD, as the children of Israel bring an offering in a clean vessel into the house of the LORD.” (Isaiah 66:18-20)

What Ezekiel 39 Tells us

Consequently, Ezekiel 39 suggests

  • The house of Israel shall not know the Lord until the defeat of Gog in the latter stages of the end times.
  • The gathering of the house of Israel from the nations will occur near the start of the Millennium.

We can further place the fulfillment of Ezekiel 37:12-14 in the latter portion of the end times by comparing Ezekiel 37:12-14 with Ezekiel 39:27-29.

The table below shows Ezekiel 37:12-14 and Ezekiel 39:27-29. The parallels further suggest that the fulfillment of Ezekiel 37:12-14 will come after the defeat of Gog in the latter stages of the end times and the final gathering of the house of Israel from the nations:

Comparing Ezekiel 37:12-14 & Ezekiel 39:27-29

  • Know the Lord
  • Gathered to Israel
  • Spirit Poured

Ezekiel 37:12-14: (12) Therefore prophesy and say unto them, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, O my people, I will open your graves, and cause you to come up out of your graves, and bring you into the land of Israel. (13) And ye shall know that I am the LORD, when I have opened your graves, O my people, and brought you up out of your graves, (14) And shall put my spirit in you, and ye shall live, and I shall place you in your own land: then shall ye know that I the LORD have spoken it, and performed it, saith the LORD.

Ezekiel 39:27-29: (27) When I have brought them again from the people, and gathered them out of their enemies’ lands, and am sanctified in them in the sight of many nations; (28) Then shall they know that I am the LORD their God, which caused them to be led into captivity among the heathen: but I have gathered them unto their own land, and have left none of them any more there. (29) Neither will I hide my face any more from them: for I have poured out my spirit upon the house of Israel, saith the Lord GOD.

In addition, the Lord says the house of Israel shall gain knowledge about Him when He puts His spirit in them (Ezekiel 37:14) and when they arrive in the land of Israel (Ezekiel 39:28). This cannot relate to the state of Israel’s creation in 1948. The Lord has yet to pour His spirit upon the house of Israel nor has a complete gathering taken place yet.

More Verses to Consider

The following sections further demonstrate:

  • The latter portion of Ezekiel 39 relates to the latter stages of the end times.
  • The fulfillment of the Valley of Dry Bones prophecy, including the gathering of the house of Israel to the land of Israel, won’t occur until the latter stages of the end times.

Ezekiel 28:25-26

Ezekiel 28:25-26 also provides us information about when the house of Israel shall have knowledge of the Lord. Like the other passages, Ezekiel 28:26 suggests that the house of Israel shall have knowledge of the Lord when they have gathered in the land of Israel.

“(25) Thus saith the Lord GOD; When I shall have gathered the house of Israel from the people among whom they are scattered, and’ shall be sanctified in them in the sight of the heathen, then shall they dwell in their land that I have given to my servant Jacob. (26) And they shall dwell safely therein, and shall build houses, and plant vineyards; yea, they shall dwell with confidence, when I have executed judgments upon all those that despise them round about them; and they shall know that I am the LORD their God.” (Ezekiel 28:25-26)

The table below shows Ezekiel 28:25-26 and Ezekiel 39:25-28. The similarities between Ezekiel 28:25-26 and Ezekiel 39:25-28 suggest that these passages are talking about the same general time frame:

Comparing Ezekiel 28:25-26 & Ezekiel 39:25-28

  • Know the Lord
  • Gathered to Israel
  • Dwelling Safely

Ezekiel 28:25-26: (25) Thus saith the Lord GOD; When I shall have gathered the house of Israel from the people among whom they are scattered, and shall be sanctified in them in the sight of the heathen, then shall they dwell in their land that I have given to my servant Jacob. (26) And they shall dwell safely therein, and shall build houses, and plant vineyards; yea, they shall dwell with confidence, when I have executed judgments upon all those that despise them round about them; and they shall know that I am the LORD their God.

Ezekiel 39:25-28: (25) Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD; Now will I bring again the captivity of Jacob, and have mercy upon the whole house of Israel, and will be jealous for my holy name; (26) After that they have borne their shame, and all their trespasses whereby they have trespassed against me, when they dwelt safely in their land, and none made them afraid. (27) When I have brought them again from the people, and gathered them out of their enemies’ lands, and am sanctified in them in the sight of many nations; (28) Then shall they know that I am the LORD their God, which caused them to be led into captivity among the heathen: but I have gathered them unto their own land, and have left none of them any more there.

Ezekiel 34:27-28 & Ezekiel 36:38 Comparison

Ezekiel 28:25-26 must refer to the time period after the defeat of Gog given that Ezekiel 39:25-28 refers to the period after the defeat of Gog. Once again, the house of Israel shall have knowledge of the Lord following the defeat of Gog.

Ezekiel 34:27-28 and Ezekiel 36:38 both indicate that the house of Israel will have knowledge of the Lord when they are in the land of Israel:

Comparing Ezekiel 34:27-28 & Ezekiel 36:38

Ezekiel 36:28, 37-38: (28) And ye shall dwell in the land that I gave to your fathers; and ye shall be my people, and I will be your God…(37) Thus saith the Lord GOD; I will yet for this be enquired of by the house of Israel, to do it for them; I will increase them with men like a flock. (38) As the holy flock, as the flock of Jerusalem in her solemn feasts; so shall the waste cities be filled with flocks of men: and they shall know that I am the LORD.

Ezekiel 34:27-28: (27) And the tree of the field shall yield her fruit, and the earth shall yield her increase, and they shall be safe in their land, and shall know that I am the LORD, when I have broken the bands of their yoke, and delivered them out of the hand of those that served themselves of them. (28) And they shall no more be a prey to the heathen, neither shall the beast of the land devour them; but they shall dwell safely, and none shall make them afraid.

A close review of these passages shows that they apply around the time of the Millennium. For instance, Ezekiel 34:28 mentions that Israel “shall no more be a prey to the heathen” while Ezekiel 36:38 mentions that the waste cities shall be filled with men.

Moreover, recall the comparison of Ezekiel 28:25-26 and Ezekiel 39:25-28. The table below shows that Ezekiel 34:27-28 relates to each of these passages:

Similarities between Ezekiel 34:27-28, 28:25-26, and 39:25-28

  • House of Israel
  • Dwelling Safely
  • Gathered

Given these similarities,

  • Ezekiel 34:27-28 must refer to the period after Gog’s defeat given that Ezekiel 39:25-28 refers to the period after the defeat of Gog.
  • We can say that the house of Israel will have knowledge of the Lord when they are in the land of Israel after the defeat of Gog near the start of the Millennium.

Adding Ezekiel 37:12-14

Now let’s add Ezekiel 37:12-14 to the mix. The many similarities between all these passages reaffirms that the fulfillment of the Valley of Dry Bones prophecy won’t occur until the latter stages of the end times:

Comparing Ezekiel 37:12-14 with Several Passages

  • Know the Lord
  • Dwelling Safely
  • Gathered to Israel
  • Add Spirit

Conclusion on the Valley of Dry Bones

In sum, the forming of the state of Israel in 1948 did not fulfill the Valley of Dry Bones prophecy. The house of Israel does not yet know the Lord. The full return of the house of Israel to the land of Israel will not occur until after the defeat of Gog near the start of the Millennium. Therefore, the fulfillment of the Valley of Dry Bones prophecy will not occur until near the start of the Millennium.

    • The borders of Israel following the Valley of Dry Bone’s fulfillment will be significantly larger than the state of Israel’s current borders. Ezekiel 47:13-20 describes the borders Israel will have after the Valley of Dry Bone’s fulfillment.

  1. GOD OF Israel OR THE CHURCH ?

The Zionists has us mistaken to a long time (Christian community), by ignorance of our priests that itself sold for idolatry, affirming that ISAREL still is the nation and the PEOPLE OF GOD, destined in our days an inheritance of Divine protection by his good performances in the conflicts against the PALESTINIANS and other nations!

Being that in fact; that protection is of the United States with his dark interests about that region, sedendo hi-tech armament to them, in comparison to the warlike lower power of the Palestinians.

As well as the help that the Christian community, finding that help God, disponibilzam monetary resources á ISRAEL without will know that are manipulated and coperadores of this be able to satanic!

As this, many Christian communities, finding that God of help, dispose the help of ISRAEL monetary at the right moment without know that that are manipulated and to cooperative of this is able to to satanic!

That it is to true MARK OF THE BEAST!

    THE ANTICHRISTS

    – lf (Ezekiel 37) itself fulfilled with the creation of Israel in 1948, as the protestants allege, then the Messiah still does not came to the world !

Therefore it is in that sequênce that affirms the prophecy: “It revive the dry bones, tappets them back to their lands and afterwards do an alliance of peace (EZ 37:26).

In fact (Ezekiel 37) : It speaks of the return of the people of the Babylonian EXILE and not of the Roman as they interpret wrongly the Christian religions.

(EZ 37:26) itself fulfills with the coming one of the Christ in his time!

The WRONG INTERPRETATION OF THIS PROPHECY DOES WITH THAT THE Christians BECOME ANTI-CHRIST, THEREFORE INDIRECTLY AFFIRM THAT THE CHRIST NEVER EMBODIED OR CAME DOWN IN THE MEAT.

“For many deceivers are entered into the world, who confess not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh This is such a deceiver and an antichrist.” (2 John 1: 7).

    • Its very important to understand that Paul is a very false apostle.

Gods people are the same people as in OT.

      The replacement-teology is false.

The whole Christianty has been deceived by him.

      Yeshua warned us.

” Wherefore if they shall say unto you, Behold, HE IS IN THE DESERT….believe it not.”

      The DECEIVER says:

And as he journeyed, he came near Damascus:(DESERT) and suddenly there shined round about him a light from heaven:

4 And he fell to the earth, and heard a voice saying unto him, Saul, Saul, why persecutest thou me?

5 And he said, Who art thou, Lord? And the Lord said, I am Jesus whom thou persecutest: it is hard for thee to KICH AGAINST THE PRICKS”

      http://www.disciplesofyeshuwa.com/custom.html

      • Just to be clear, Paul never taught replacement theology. He said the Israel has been blinded UNTIL the fulness of the Gentiles comes in, and then all Israel will be saved. Wayne doesn’t teach replacement theology, in case you were unaware. I think you need to spend some real time studying what Paul said, because I don’t think you understand him at all.

        • What is replacemant-teology?

          God said.

“And ye shall circumcise the flesh of your foreskin; and it shall be a token of the covenant betwixt me and you.

12 And he that is eight days old shall be circumcised among you, every man child in your generations, he that is born in the house, or bought with money of any stranger, which is not of thy seed.

13 He that is born in thy house, and he that is bought with thy money, must needs be circumcised: and my covenant shall be in your flesh for an everlasting covenant.

14 And the uncircumcised man child whose flesh of his foreskin is not circumcised, that soul shall be cut off from his people; he hath BROKEN MY COVENANT.” Genesis 17

          ——————————–
This is the covenant God said will last to the end.

What did the false apostle Paul write?

“Behold, I Paul say unto you, that if ye be circumcised, Christ shall profit you nothing.

3 For I testify again to EVERY MAN THAT IS CIRCUMCISED that he is a debtor to do the whole law.

4 Christ is become of NO EFFECT UNTO YOU, whosoever of you are justified by the law; ye are fallen from grace.

5 For we through the Spirit wait for the hope of righteousness by faith.

6 For in Jesus Christ neither circumcision availeth any thing, nor uncircumcision; but faith which worketh by love.

7 Ye did run well; who did hinder you that ye should not obey the truth?” Gal 5

You can read about Antichrist that he in uncircumcised in Habakkuk 2.

“Thou ANTICHRIST)art filled with shame for glory: drink thou also, and let THY FORESKIN be uncovered: the cup of the LORD’S right hand shall be turned unto thee, and SHAMEFUL SPEWING shall be on thy glory.”

Gods says circumcision is a eternal physical sign.

  2. In sum, the formation of the state of Israel in 1948 did not fulfill the Valley of Dry Bones prophecy
    —————-
    ANSWER.
    Correct.
Ezekiel 37 tells about the ” rising from death”.
The graves with be opened and the death will rise.
This will happen when Yeshua returns to Jerusalem after 6000 years.

    ———————–
Yeshua warned us not to be deceived.
He said that if anyone siad they had meet Him in the desert, “believe it not”.
Who is the first person who said “I meet him in the desert at Damaskus”.
    His name is Paul.
    He is very false.
    He has made the replacement-teology.

Here is one of his lies:

“Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord”

    ——–

Tanakh says we will stay on this earth. We will not be taken into the air and go to a place away from this earth.

    https://denveryouthproject.files.wordpress.com/2012/05/rapture_1_.jpg

    Its a big lie.

Ezekiel 37 tells us exactly what happens when Yeshua returns.

“So I prophesied as I was commanded: and as I prophesied, there was a noise, and behold a shaking, and the bones came together, bone to his bone.

8 And when I beheld, lo, the sinews and the flesh came up upon them, and the skin covered them above: but there was no breath in them.

9 Then said he unto me, Prophesy unto the wind, prophesy, son of man, and say to the wind, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Come from the four winds, O breath, and breathe upon these slain, that they may live.

10 So I prophesied as he commanded me, and the breath came into them, and they lived, and stood up upon their feet, an exceeding great army.

11 Then he said unto me, Son of man, these bones are the whole house of Israel: behold, they say, Our bones are dried, and our hope is lost: we are cut off for our parts.

12 Therefore prophesy and say unto them, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, O my people, I will open your graves, and cause you to come up out of your graves, and bring you into the land of Israel.

13 And ye shall know that I am the LORD, when I have opened your graves, O my people, and brought you up out of your graves,

14 And shall put my spirit in you, and ye shall live, and I shall place you in your own land: then shall ye know that I the LORD have spoken it, and performed it, saith the LORD.”
    ————-

When Yeshua return the water will flow out from the templemount in Jerusalem.

“And it shall be in that day, that LIVING WATERS shall go out from Jerusalem; half of them toward the former sea, and half of them toward the hinder sea: in summer and in winter shall it be.”

In Ezekiel 47 we are told how it will be when the millennium starts (2028)

“Afterward he brought me again unto the door of the house; and, behold, waters issued out from under the threshold of the house eastward: for the forefront of the house stood toward the east, and the waters came down from under from the right side of the house, at the south side of the altar.

2 Then brought he me out of the way of the gate northward, and led me about the way without unto the utter gate by the way that looketh eastward; and, behold, there ran out waters on the right side.”

“And by the river upon the bank thereof, on this side and on that side, shall grow all trees for meat, whose leaf shall not fade, neither shall the fruit thereof be consumed: it shall bring forth new fruit according to his months, because their waters they issued out of the sanctuary: and the fruit thereof shall be for meat, and the leaf thereof for medicine.”

    • You are totally distorting the bible truths there mister!! You sound very much like a typical so called Jews today who are actually not. Those who teach falsely about the bible and use the Talmud as the basis of their religion and totally in denial of the truth. The setting up of the state of Israel in 1948 has nothing prophetic to it at all. The people in Israel are maybe Israelis, but certainly not the true Hebrews of the bible, they are Khazars, read books like the 13th Tribe by Artur Koestler or the Invention of the Jewish People by Prof. Shlomo Sand. This discussion here is serious and not a political issue but a serious matter. You do not seem to have anything sensible to contribute but to add confusion and I suggest you back off with such opinions, it is nonsense and highly convoluted.

  3. Obviously, we have a significant difference of opinion on this subject matter, including the fulfillment of various passages relating to the return of people from the nations. The good thing about having a comments system is that other people can read the comments and draw things from it on either side.

I don’t see fulfillment yet of these prophecies because I do not believe the conditions surrounding a gathering have been met yet. The type of gathering described in Ezekiel and Deuteronomy 30 is permanent, which I currently believe can only be associated with passages concerning the Millennium. In addition, verses like Ezekiel 39:25 suggest that a gathering won’t occur until after the defeat of Gog. I also would refer people to Isaiah 11:11-16.

  4. Deuteronomy 10? I didn’t reference that chapter. I referenced verses 1 to 10 of Deuteronomy 30. I was aware of the two houses when I wrote the article.

Deuteronomy 30 concerns a final return from the nations. I once thought that Deuteronomy 30 was fulfilled after the Holocaust, but now I don’t see that until after Armageddon because of the parallels between Deuteronomy 30 and passages which concern the post-Armageddon period.

  5. I saw that after I replied. Sorry about that. But I still don’t see how the scattering is still under way according to history itself. And I don’t see your timeline in Deuteronomy 10. It is all relative. I’m sure the Jews felt all that you say hasn’t occurred did occur already to them during WWII. But you did see where there is two of something going on in Ezekiel. Did you ever think it is the two houses referred here and something is happening to both?

  6. How do you say they were not scattered when northern Israel was taken off the land never to be heard from again, i.e. the Ten lost tribes, and 200 plus years later, southern Judah was led into captivity in Babylon. Yes, the Jews were brought back to the land only to be scattered to the ends of the earth in 69-70 A.D. Sometimes we need to look at the small things in the verses. Refer to Deu 28:22-23. The Lord shall smite them with a consumption and overhead is brass and under foot is iron. Check out king Neb’s statute. Brass is Greece. Iron is Rome. Weren’t the Jews during the captivity under both Greece and Rome? Perhaps the timeline in Deuteronomy 10 is much earlier than you think. And remember what Jesus said in Mat 23: “O Jerusalem, Jerusalem …you will not see me again until…” But then we see also see in Deu 33:24-25 the blessings of Asher from the House of Israel with shoes of iron and brass and dipping his foot in oil. This is still yet another era, another time in history when there is blessings and not curses. It is a time when Asher has the upper hand over Rome and Greece. We would have to look into Revelation for that and check out the seven empires. Thus, we can figuring out timelines is not so easy.

  7. Very interesting. You make a very good argument. I would agree with you if the “House of Israel” were the modern people in the land of Israel today. But if you look closely at bible prophecy and know your history, then you should know there are two houses, not one. The Jewish people today are the “House of Judah” not the “House of Israel.” The two houses comprise all the Hebrew people. The “House of Judah” is only made up of the tribes of Judah, part of Levi, Benjamin and possibly Simeon. The “House of Israel” is made up of the rest. For proof, look at the list of the peoples that came back from the captivity to rebuild the Temple in Ezra and Nehemiah. Not one was from the “House of Israel.” They were all from the “House of Judah.” Thus, the modern country of Israel is the biblical latter day “land of Israel” and “House of Judah,” but is not the “House of Israel.” The “whole House of Israel” was divided after King Solomon died into two kingdoms, the Northern Kingdom which came to be called “House of Israel” and the Southern Kingdom which came to be called “House of Judah.” All this is in the Bible. For this reason, the “land” references could be the country of Israel in 1948.

  8. You are right in that I take prophecy in its most literal sense wherever possible. I do this because we are told by Peter that prophecy is not for private interpretation. Anything other than the most literal understanding wherever possible is the only way to avoid a private interpretation. Besides the fact that if it can be taken literally, I see no reason why one should try to metaphorize, spiritualize or do anything else to it. Where God uses symbolism, He generally explains Himself. If not in the passage itself, generally somewhere else in Scripture. God wants us to understand. The best way I find to make people understand me is to be as clear as possible. I am of the opinion God does the same.

I understand that the endtimes scenario is going to occur in the “one week” mentioned in Daniel 9:27. Christ told us to look to Daniel to understand the abomination about which He speaks. It occurs in the middle of that week according to Daniel. Based upon the description of what the length of the other 69 weeks are, it would make that week be 7 years. Thus the abomination of desolation, which kicks off the great tribulation is 3 1/2 years before the end is brought in and Christ returns.

As for the great tribulation being cut short, what I see as being cut short is the persecution of the beast in killing everyone who does not accept his mark. Apparently there will be a lot who don’t and who die. If God were not to stop this persecution, he would eventually kill everyone who does not take the mark. That means there would be nobody left to go into the millennium, as all those who do take it will be sent to hell upon Christ’s return. Does that mean the rest of the time left in the second half of that “week” after the tribulation is clear sailing? Obviously not. What cuts short the tribulation are the signs in the sixth seal. It says when that happens people will be running for their lives to hide. That will effectively cut short the wholesale slaughter of Christians, Jews, and anyone else who will not take the mark as people will be too concerned with saving their own lives. What follows in the trumpets will also keep mankind too busy surviving to bother with killing the small remnant that is left. At the seventh trumpet, God’s wrath is poured out. That will be a terrible time, but Christians will be gone by then.

I take the approach that God was not trying to set out a puzzle to see who could guess at what it means, but He was trying to tell us clearly what will be happening so we can know what to expect. Thus while His way of speaking is poetical in manner, I think He meant us to understand much (except for the symbolism which He explains) literally.

I do not know from where you find an extra 7 or 10 years either during or after the tribulation. I see a period of 42 months, 1260 days, or 3 1/2 years mentioned as occurring during the second half of that seven year period or one week. Then I see Christ’s return. I do not see any specifics laid out for the first half as it does for the second. I don’t know where you get the extra time of 7 or 10 years you are speaking about after the tribulation.Quite honestly I’ve never heard anybody with that interpretation before.

  9. It matters because it impacts the way we see events transpiring. For instance, I tend to see events transpiring in the way Connie does, and that is because my timeline is similar as hers. Therefore, I tend to agree with her on a lot of things.

Now I do see Jerusalem being surrounded at the establishment of the abomination of desolation. I do not believe God will intervene in this episode. The siege latter on near the end of the seventieth week is a different matter. This is a siege where God will intervene.

  10. It doesn’t really matter if they are the same or not.

Who is attacking “Jerusalem”? Why? Is it for good or ill? What does God think about it? God want to punish and rectify and defend, but that doesn’t happen all at once.

  11. You haven’t really addressed what is happening during the 42 months that the “Gentiles have control of the outer court”. And that is lock solid during the 2nd woe, the 6th trumpet.

Here is another way of looking at it:

26 And the people of the prince who is to come

    “the antichrist”

Shall destroy the city and the sanctuary.

the “city” is Babylon/ Trumpet 2/ Jeremiah 51:25’s “burning mountain”
the sanctuary is Trumpet 3 & 4 (too long to get into here) (hint, it’s the Vatican and Bible censorship)

The end of it shall be with a flood,

Trumpet 5’s 150 days is referencing Noah and Gen 7 & 8 from the 2nd month 17th day to the 7th month 17th day

And till the end of the war desolations are determined.

desolation of Jerusalem for 396.29 days

    27 Then he shall confirm a covenant with many for one week;

But in the middle of the week

He shall bring an end to sacrifice and offering.

1260 days (Trumpet 6/ 2nd woe – 1/2 of the 7 years is 1260 days. the start of the 7 year covenant is at the start of this 1260 day period which we know without a doubt is during the 6th Trumpet – it says so in Rev 11:14.)

And on the wing of abominations shall be one who makes desolate,

(the beast from the earth, the false prophet)

Even until the consummation, which is determined,

Is poured out on the desolate (Daniel 9:26-27)

“Poured out” =pouring out of the bowls/ vials of wrath (which we know lasts for at least 70 weeks).

  12. I never said trumpet six was instantaneous. Don’t know how you got that from what I said. I just said that I believe the year, day, month, and hour is not the length of time in which they kill, which I think is not indicated, but the date that God has preordained to turn them loose to kill, for some unspecified length of time. That’s all. I do not think any of the trumpets are about the abomination. I think the entire great tribulation which comes after the abomination, comes before the trumpets sound, as the group of people on the sea of glass come out of the great tribulation (which is not 42 months long, as it is cut short) and then the trumpets sound. I see the fifth seal as where the tribulation is starting to occur. Then it is over by the sixth seal, which according to Matt. 24 is after the great tribulation is cut short. Then the trumpets are opened, as they are the seventh seal. That’s how I it reads, so that’s how I understand it.

  13. All I am saying is this:
    Trumpet 5, 150 days, 1st woe
    Trumpet 6, people are killed
    – you say they are killed instantaneously,
I say that it takes 396.29 days
    Then the abomination is placed:
    Rev 9

13 The sixth angel sounded his trumpet, and I heard a voice coming from the four horns of the golden altar that is before God. 14 It said to the sixth angel who had the trumpet, “Release the four angels who are bound at the great river Euphrates.” 15 And the four angels who had been kept ready for this very hour and day and month and year were released to kill a third of mankind. 16 The number of the mounted troops was twice ten thousand times ten thousand. I heard their number.

    17 The
horses and riders I saw in my vision looked like this: Their
breastplates were fiery red, dark blue, and yellow as sulfur. The heads
of the horses resembled the heads of lions, and out of their mouths came fire, smoke and sulfur. 18 A third of mankind was killed by the three plagues of fire, smoke and sulfur that came out of their mouths. 19 The power of the horses was in their mouths and in their tails; for their
tails were like snakes, having heads with which they inflict injury.

20 The rest of mankind who were not killed by these plagues still did not repent of the work of their hands; they did not stop worshiping demons, and idols of gold, silver, bronze, stone and wood—idols that cannot see or hear or walk. 21 Nor did they repent of their murders, their magic arts, their sexual immorality or their thefts.

The people don’t repent of their idols. = they place the abomination and trample “Jerusalem” for 42 months/ the temple is given to the Gentiles.

After that the 2 witnesses are dead for 3.5 days, then comes the implied 70 weeks.

If I am understanding you correctly, you think Trumpet 1 is the placement of the Abomination? IMO, Trumpet 1 is the burning of Mystery Babylon, but I am open to better ideas.

  14. I have the siege of Jerusalem coming after the sounding of the sixth trumpet near the end of the seventieth week of Daniel and well after the abomination of desolation is established.

  15. As the 6th trumpet is the second woe, and the second woe ends at the end of the testimony of the two prophets 1260 day prophesying, as I laid out earlier, and their prophesying is during the time that the temple and city is trampled underfoot by the Gentiles, which according to Luke is the 42 months after the abomination occurs, I don’t see how the 6th trumpet can be before the abomination. Sorry, it just doesn’t add up for me. Please go back and compare the timing of the Scriptures I laid out between Luke, Romans, and Rev. 11.

  16. The abomination comes after the siege of Jerusalem allows the placement of the Abomination.

I can only go by what Rev 11 says

I was given a reed like a measuring rod and was told, “Go and measure the temple of God and the altar, with its worshipers. 2 But exclude the outer court; do not measure it, because it has been given to the Gentiles. They will trample on the holy city for 42 months. 3 And I will appoint my two witnesses, and they will prophesy for 1,260 days, clothed in sackcloth.” 4 They are “the two olive trees” and the two lampstands, and “they stand before the Lord of the earth.”[a] 5 If anyone tries to harm them, fire comes from their mouths and devours their enemies. This is how anyone who wants to harm them must die. 6 They have power to shut up the heavens so that it will not rain during the time they are prophesying; and they have power to turn the waters into blood and to strike the earth with every kind of plague as often as they want.

7 Now when they have finished their testimony, the beast that comes up from the Abyss will attack them, and overpower and kill them. 8 Their bodies will lie in the public square of the great city—which is figuratively called Sodom and Egypt—where also their Lord was crucified. 9 For three and a half days some from every people, tribe, language and nation will gaze on their bodies and refuse them burial. 10 The inhabitants of the earth will gloat over them and will celebrate by sending each other gifts, because these two prophets had tormented those who live on the earth.

11 But after the three and a half days the breath[b] of life from God entered them, and they stood on their feet, and terror struck those who saw them. 12 Then they heard a loud voice from heaven saying to them, “Come up here.” And they went up to heaven in a cloud, while their enemies looked on.

13 At that very hour there was a severe earthquake
and a tenth of the city collapsed. Seven thousand people were killed in
the earthquake, and the survivors were terrified and gave glory to the God of heaven.

14 The second woe has passed; the third woe is coming soon.

The 1st woe is Trumpet 5, the 2nd woe is Trumpet 6, then the “outer court is given to the Gentiles” for 42 months. The Gentiles place the abomination statue for Jews/ Christians to worship.

Then the 2nd woe has passed, verse 14.

Again, Trumpet 6 is the siege of “Jerusalem” that allows the placement of the Abomination. It is the Year of recompense for the cause of Zion, it is the day of the Lord, it is the month to dismiss the 3 worthless shepherds, and the hour of trial. It is a clear reference to Ezekiel 4’s 390 day war + 7 days by the river.

  17. My first question and problem before I get past the first paragraph is – why are you putting the 5th and 6th trumpet before the abomination when the people on the sea of glass before even the first trumpet is blown are said to come out of the great tribulation? The trumpets must come after the mid-point of Daniel’s 70th week.

I also have interpreted the phrase that they have been prepared for a year, month, day and hour to mean not that it is 396 days plus an hour that they will ride, but that they have been prepared to be released at a particular hour on a particular day, in a particular month in a particular year. e.g. August 15, 2020 at 7 pm Jerusalem time, for instance. It would seem to me to be the more logical way to interpret it, as it seems a little strange that God would have these things kill for 396 days and… 1 hour? It’s the 1 hour that seems a little off to me. Makes me think He wanted us to interpret it as them having been appointed to be released at a specific hour on a specific day in a specific year. Just my opinion.

I also do not take the rising from the graves as metaphorically but literally. It says that skin comes on the bones of those who were slain and then God has a great army. To me this is a resurrection, (the 1st) which occurs when Christ returns.

I see no problem with those parables, as they fit in with my interpretation of where the Lord returns, resurrects and raptures people. At the last trumpet. Christ’s reign begins then. It says so.

  18. Brother Wayne,

Thanks for your labors of love and truth for the glory of our Lord and the good of His sheep. I very much enjoyed your treatment of this topic, and likewise, have written a paper of my own that you may find beneficial–it’s on my ScribD bookshelf at the below link.

Blessings of the Lord to you and your ministry!
