The Dangerous Images of the Beast in Revelation 13

The Book of Revelation talks about how people will worship images of the beast during the end times. I believe the images of the beast are dangerous. Why do I describe the images of the beast in that way? Find out why I call the images of the beast dangerous in this article.

Images of the Beast in Revelation 13

Revelation 13 indicates that the False Prophet (the beast coming up out of the earth) will convince many people to make images of the beast (Antichrist) after performing many miracles:

“(11) And I beheld another beast coming up out of the earth; and he had two horns like a lamb, and he spake as a dragon. (12) And he exerciseth all the power of the first beast before him, and causeth the earth and them which dwell therein to worship the first beast, whose deadly wound was healed. (13) And he doeth great wonders, so that he maketh fire come down from heaven on the earth in the sight of men, (14) And deceiveth them that dwell on the earth by the means of those miracles which he had power to do in the sight of the beast; saying to them that dwell on the earth, that they should make an image to the beast, which had the wound by a sword, and did live.” (Revelation 13:11-14)

The False Prophet will somehow empower the images of the Antichrist according to Revelation 13:15. These images will have the ability to speak and cause the deaths of those who do not to worship them:

“(15) And he had power to give life unto the image of the beast, that the image of the beast should both speak, and cause that as many as would not worship the image of the beast should be killed.” (Revelation 13:15)

As you can see, there’s something very unusual about the images of the beast. Normal images of an individual cannot talk, track your movements, or harm you. What makes the images of the beast so different and dangerous?

What’s Inside the Images of the Beast

I believe the answer can be found in Revelation 9:20. Let’s look at what Revelation 9:20 says:

“And the rest of the men which were not killed by these plagues yet repented not of the works of their hands, that they should not worship devils, and idols of gold, and silver, and brass, and stone, and of wood: which neither can see, nor hear, nor walk:” (Revelation 9:20)

The images of the beast that people will worship shall have the ability to speak (Revelation 13:15). Yet Revelation 9:20 talks about how the things people will worship can’t see, hear, or walk. How can items that can’t see, hear, or walk be able to speak and put people to death for not worshipping them?

The answer is that demons will inhabit the images of the beast. We can reach this conclusion because Revelation 9:20 states that people will worship idols and devils at the same time:

“And the rest of the men which were not killed by these plagues yet repented not of the works of their hands, that they should not worship devils, and idols of gold, and silver, and brass, and stone, and of wood: which neither can see, nor hear, nor walk:” (Revelation 9:20)

People will worship the Antichrist by worshipping the images and idols of the beast. By doing this, people will be indirectly worshiping the demons that inhabit the idols and images of the beast. These demons will give the idols and images of the beast the ability to speak, monitor people, and alert the authorities on the whereabouts of people who do not worship them. Those who do not worship them will die.

Global Surveillance

The presence of demons in the images and idols of the beast would create a scary global surveillance network. Revelation 13:15 talks about how those who refuse to worship the images of the beast will be killed. Opponents of the beast will have to be very careful to avoid the millions, if not billions, of idols/images of the beast that will exist worldwide lest they die.
