The Wheat Harvest of Revelation 14 Video Transcript
Revelation 14 records a wheat harvest in verses 14-15:
"(14) And I looked, and behold a white cloud, and upon the cloud one sat like unto the Son of man, having on his head a golden crown, and in his hand a sharp sickle. (15) And another angel came out of the temple, crying with a loud voice to him that sat on the cloud, Thrust in thy sickle, and reap: for the time is come for thee to reap; for the harvest of the earth is ripe." (Revelation 14:14-15)
Some believe the individual on the white cloud is Christ while others believe it is an angel.
Nonetheless, the reaper is on the side of God. The wheat harvest in Revelation 14 depicts the harvest of the righteous at the end of the age. The harvest is covered in more detail in the Parable of the Wheat and Tares in Matthew 13 where the wheat represents the righteous:
"(30) Let both grow together until the harvest: and in the time of harvest I will say to the reapers, Gather ye together first the tares, and bind them in bundles to burn them: but gather the wheat into my barn. [...] (37) He answered and said unto them, He that soweth the good seed is the Son of man; (38) The field is the world; the good seed are the children of the kingdom; but the tares are the children of the wicked one; (39) The enemy that sowed them is the devil; the harvest is the end of the world; and the reapers are the angels. (40) As therefore the tares are gathered and burned in the fire; so shall it be in the end of this world." (Matthew 13:30, 37-40)
