What Is the Seventh Seal in Revelation?

Revelation 8:1-2 describes a half hour of silence in Heaven after Christ opens the seventh seal. I explain what the seventh seal represents.

Revelation 8:1: What Does the Seventh Seal Represent? Video Transcript

What does the seventh seal in Revelation 8 represent? Christ opens the seal and there is a half hour of silence in Heaven:

"And when he had opened the seventh seal, there was silence in heaven about the space of half an hour."

Why is Heaven silent?

Recall that I told you in a previous video that the sixth seal heralds the onset of the Day of the Lord after the tribulation.

Context is key as Zephaniah 1:7 calls on those to hold their peace for the Day of the Lord is at hand:

"Hold thy peace at the presence of the Lord God: for the day of the Lord is at hand: for the Lord hath prepared a sacrifice, he hath bid his guests."

The seventh seal depicts solemn silence in Heaven as God is about to unleash His wrath on the wicked.
