What Does Isaiah 19 Tell us About Egypt & Assyria in the Millennium?

Isaiah 19 describes Egypt and Assyria in the future. I explain what Isaiah tells us about Egypt and Assyria.

Isaiah 19: Israel’s Special Alliance Video Transcript

Egypt and Assyria at various points were enemies of Israel. In fact, the Kingdom of Egypt and the Assyrian Empire represent two of the heads of the beast from the abyss described in Revelation 17.

Revelation 17:8-10: (8) The beast that thou sawest was, and is not; and shall ascend out of the bottomless pit, and go into perdition: and they that dwell on the earth shall wonder, whose names were not written in the book of life from the foundation of the world, when they behold the beast that was, and is not, and yet is. (9) And here is the mind which hath wisdom. The seven heads are seven mountains, on which the woman sitteth. (10) And there are seven kings: five are fallen, and one is, and the other is not yet come; and when he cometh, he must continue a short space.

Isaiah 19:24 tells us that Egypt and Assyria will someday become Israel’s closest allies. The Lord refers to those in Egypt and Assyria as His people in verse 25, and they will serve the Lord:

Isaiah 19:24-25: (24) In that day shall Israel be the third with Egypt and with Assyria, even a blessing in the midst of the land: (25) Whom the Lord of hosts shall bless, saying, Blessed be Egypt my people, and Assyria the work of my hands, and Israel mine inheritance.

The fulfillment of this part of Isaiah 19 will be in the Millennium. Israel’s relationship with Egypt and Assyria at that time is a good example of how much different the world will be when Christ reigns in the Millennium.
