1 Thessalonians 4:17 – Meeting Christ in the Air Video Transcript
1 Thessalonians 4:17 states that Christians will meet Christ in the air at the Rapture.
1 Thessalonians 4:16-17: (16) For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: (17) Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.
Many assume that Christ will then take the Church to Heaven for seven years until the time of His Second Coming arrives. However, this assumption is incorrect.
The Greek word for “meet” (apantesis) actually implies that Christians will meet Christ in the air and then escort Him back to Earth like people would greet a dignitary who has arrived to visit a country.
Christians will meet Christ, the King of Kings, in the air at the end of the Tribulation and join Him as He comes to take control of the kingdoms of the earth.
